The facility masterplan implementation project includes a major building addition of 100,000 sf, a parking structure of another 120,000 sf, and the renovation of another 100,000 sf of space.
Enhanced and recreated departments include the ED, Open-heart surgery, ICU, Open-heart unit, Cardiac TCU, Medical/Surgical units, Clinical decision unit, Registration, Music therapy, and support space.
The design has been organized so that the hospital functions can remain in operation throughout the entire construction duration. The procedural platform portion of this project included the addition of 3 open heart operating rooms, 1 hybrid operating room, and the renovation of 10 existing operating rooms. The perioperative spaces were also expanded in such a way to allow for overflow back and forth, minimizing the built square footage in a very tight existing footprint.
