MONASTERY IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
Monastery Immaculate Conception is located on the highest point in Ferdinand, Indiana. It was founded in 1867 and has housed thousands of sisters since its inception.
The scope of the project included replacement of the entire arched ceiling, removal and replacement of the wood floor with a marble floor to reflect the style of the church, upgrades to lighting, and a fresh color palette, as well as the design of a new holy water font. The design includes a new Eucharistic Chapel.
The exterior restoration work involved tuck-pointing, cleaning and sealing of masonry; removal and reinstallation of the clay tile roof with a new water barrier; and the removal, refurbishment and re-installation of the existing stained glass windows with new storm panels.
