The Charles and Mimi Osborn Cancer Center at Baptist East Hospital represents the consolidation of numerous Cancer Services into one comprehensive location. The new addition to the 4003 building enabled Baptist Healthcare to develop a new image and a patient friendly entrance to the Cancer Center.
A new, fully accessible, entrance was designed and built, including a drive under canopy, lobby, central waiting, concierge station, CT simulator and public restrooms. The new education spaces, treatments spaces, and administrative spaces help to integrate and improve the delivery of oncology services. Natural light and natural materials were used in thought­ful ways to create an interior environment that would be more soothing and comfort­able to patients as well as staff. On the fifth floor the greeting and waiting room space was simplified, and the integration of natural elements in the art glass and art work make for an enjoyable experi­ence.
