The expansion to this existing facility encompassed 145,000 square feet of space to house new and expanded in-patient
departments for the facility’s women’s services. LMH worked as architect of record with HKS Architects to complete this campus changing project.
Departments included post partum units, a 40 bed NICU, an in-paitent cancer unit, as well as newly defined entrances, lobbies, dining, and public spaces.
Phasing was a critical piece of this project, as three stories of new construction were
developed above existing occupied space, due to the tight, land-locked site. An existing mother/baby unit and the emergency department remained in operation during the entire construction process.
