CHARLES AND MIMI OSBORN CANCER CENTER

Addition and Renovation

Louisville, Kentucky

The Charles and Mimi Osborn Cancer Center at Baptist East Hospital represents the consolidation of numerous Cancer Services into one comprehensive location.

The new addition to the 4003 building enabled Baptist Healthcare to develop a new image and a patient friendly entrance to the Cancer Center. A whole new, fully accessible, entrance was realized, including a drive under canopy, lobby, central waiting, concierge station and public restrooms.  All new education spaces, treatments spaces, and administrative spaces helped to integrate and improve the delivery of oncology services.  Natural light and natural materials were used in thoughtful ways to create an interior environment that would be more soothing and comfortable to patients as well as staff.

On the fifth floor, the greeting and waiting function was simplified, and the continued integration of natural elements in art glass and art work made for an enjoyable experience.
